Excellent trip bathed in beautiful nature in all directions
Dolomites to Trieste via Lake Bled at the Foot of the Julian Alps
What a perfect way to travel through the beautiful countryside of Italy, Austria and Slovenia's followed with the alps on the side.
Every part of the journey was without any troubles at all. The navigation app was flawless and very easy to use.
We are very satisfied with BikeTours and Fun active Tours, simply because everything was after the plan.
We would 100% recommend them and are already begin to plan the next tour.- What was the date of your tour?

Really beautiful scenery and a great bike to take me down the paths
Danube Cycle Path Passau – Budapest
I really enjoyed the trip. The scenery was gorgeous. The navigation app worked well, and pointed out the details we needed to cross the road when needed, and circle around to cross bridges. Our luggage transfers were seamless. I was happy with my pedal assist ebike, which worked without a hitch and made the riding just the right level of athletic challenge (but not too much). We got a great overview of the ride from Vienna to Budapest from a meeting with the tour operator, so we knew what to expect, and weren't confused on our rail and boat transfers towards the end.
I liked staying in the smaller towns, where I could see how people live, and experience local hospitality.

Life-time experience!
Prague to Vienna via Cesky Krumlov
We had a wonderful experience on this tour and thoroughly enjoyed every moment of it. Our guide, Milan, and our driver, Henry, were exceptionally helpful, friendly, and professional throughout the journey. Milan enriched the experience by providing extensive historical context and fascinating insights about the places we visited, which made the tour even more memorable.
The cycling route was excellent and very scenic. Some sections, particularly the hilly terrain, were quite challenging, but the rest of the route was manageable and enjoyable. The effort was definitely worth it, given the beautiful landscapes and rewarding experience.
Overall, this was an outstanding tour, and I would definitely do it again. Highly recommended! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Great trip
Danube Bike Path 7 Nights (Classic)
Overall it was a great trip. We had standard bikes and never had a problem with them. Our bags arrived with no problems.
It was lovely riding along the Danube and seeing different small towns in Austria. It was very hot when we were there with a head wind so some hard days but doable. - ★★★★★ Emma
Great trip
Innsbruck to Lake Garda Across the Southern Slopes of the Alps
Very well organised. Lovely hotels. Superb helpline which we ended up using daily as one of our group was ill and couldn’t cycle most days. The help included the bike being transported on the days it couldn’t be cycled and when that couldn’t happen a new bike got delivered instead. Amazing.

Prima volta in bici
Vienna to Budapest (Classic)

Record Low Water Levels on Danube
Danube Capitals Bike & Boat Tour
Despite the disappointment of having the itinerary substantially changed because of the record low water levels on the Danube River, we were impressed that the crew was able to pull off a really nice trip with only about ten days' notice. They provided nice bike routes for each day, the dockings were at interesting places, the meals were amazing, and the tour guide Jurgen did an amazing job of pulling it all off.

Slay Down the Danube
Danube Delights: Biking through Four Countries
An incredible way to see the Danube and explore the country side of Germany and Austria. Unfortunately due to weather our boat was stuck in Vienna, but our cruise director Leslie made sure we hit every spot on the itinerary and organised tours to take us into Bratislava and Budapest. The meals were incredible onboard, and always served with a smile thanks to Khatti and Mohammed. Our room attendant Nabil always made sure our cabin was well kept and cleaned it so efficiently. It was incredible to have the sailors not only guiding us safely down the Danube but sorting out bikes for us everyday. Everyone on board was incredible and it was an awesome experience. The cycling app to guide you around was so easy to use and the routes were so easy to ride on.

Staff and the route were just excellent. The hotels were great. I would have a suggestion for a local company, but it does not detract from the experience.

Trip of a lifetime
Danube Delights: Biking through Four Countries
A bike-and-boat tour is truly the perfect way to experience the beautiful Danube! Our barge, The Vivienne, was spectacular, and the crew and guides were absolutely wonderful throughout the trip.
We cycled mainly along flat, scenic bike paths, making it easy to relax, enjoy the views, and take in the beautiful surrounding countryside. Each day brought something new, from charming towns and stunning landscapes to fascinating castle ruins and historic sites.
What made the experience even more special was learning about the region’s rich and fascinating history from our incredibly knowledgeable guides. Their stories and insights brought the places we visited to life and made every day feel like an adventure.
The combination of cycling during the day and returning to the comfort of The Vivienne in the evening was fantastic. It was the perfect balance of adventure, relaxation, beautiful scenery, and history. An unforgettable way to explore the Danube — we absolutely loved every moment!

Beautiful countryside
Tauern Bike Path (Krimml-Passau)
Our fifth time riding this gorgeous bike tour. One can never tire of the beautiful mountains, waterfall, small farms, villages, orchards, etc. The hotels were all high quality and located on or near the bike path. The bikes were in excellent condition. The coordination between Bike Tours. Com and the local tour company was superb.

Nice route, good bikes, great hotels, flakey FunActive app
Dolomites to Trieste via Lake Bled at the Foot of the Julian Alps
Very nice route. The instructions at times were too terse so that we did not know that we had a private ride at one point and thought it to be public transport. The exit from Bled went very smoothly but again we did not know quite what was planned beforehand. Initial pickup of the bikes and documents also was not clear and we had to go to the FunActive office to arrange that.
The final leg to Trieste could be improved, we took both the recommended and our improved route so know this to be so (I can supply the GPX if wanted).
The FunActive App is comprehensive but often stops functioning and uses a lot of battery. It would be better if it had less functionality but always worked.
Bikes were great. The front-box supplied did not fit the guidebook supplied!
Hotels and their meals were all great. - ★★★★★ Nancy
Pedal, Explore, Eat, Repeat
Danube Cycle Path Passau – Budapest
Riding bicycles through the countryside, towns and cities of four countries allowed us to experience and explore at our own pace and pleasure. The route was well-planned with a navigation app allowing us to avoid most of the major roads and traffic while traveling through villages, farm fields and along the Danube. Our luggage arrived at each hotel as planned; the hotels were really nice and had great breakfasts; and our lodging was always located close to scenic areas (like the Danube) or city sites. The bicycles we rented from biketours.com were in excellent condition allowing us a trouble-free ride, and came with a panniers for things we needed to keep with us. Biketours uses local partners to implement rides and we did have one blip in the itinerary where we were supposed to take a boat on the Danube from Szentendre to Budapest and the boat service had been suspended. The local operator was responsive and apologetic and helped us formulate an alternative plan. I would use biketours.com again. I would add that there are sections where you ride in city traffic or on minor roads with no bike lane. I didn't enjoy that, but it was unavoidable to get to our hotels which were located to provide us with easier access to the sites.

Excellent routes. Beautiful. Some issues with service.
Dolomites to Trieste via Lake Bled at the Foot of the Julian Alps
The trip, overall, was wonderful. Beautiful views and great trails. We had a few problems communicating with the staff, which I’ll come back to.
The first day was gorgeous. Going through the Dolomites, on dedicated bike trails that were full of everything from serious riders to families with kids on bikes. Nice graduate downhill. Our ebikes used only 2 out of 5 bars on the battery indicator. Ended at a very small town, Oberdrauburg, which had a grocery, a few restaurants, and one of the best cake shops I have ever been to! But now much else to do.The second day to Feistritz was a bit less exciting, we were on (mostly empty) roads about half the time, and again you end in a very small town. If it is warm, bring your swimsuit with you! You pass a lake with nice beaches and hundreds of people out sunning themselves. Closer to the Feinstritz, there was wonderful local outdoor swim club. After getting our swimsuits, we backtracked about 15 minutes to that swim club. A nice way to spend the late afternoon.
The third day was spectacular! The scenery was amazing, and the dedicated bike trails were also amazing. There is some uphill on this day, and a bit of easy road riding, but it ends a Bled which is stunning. We got to swim again.
The fourth day took a bit more concentration, with some time on bigger roads. Not too much traffic, but there were a few trucks. Ended at Cividale, which is a UNESCO World Heritage town that I had never heard of. Seeing Cividale was the big payoff for this day.
The fifth day was a lot on gravel roads through flat fields. Think Nebraska corn fields, but with grape vines. The biking was good exercise, but not so beautiful. However, Udine was another big surprise. A small town that was very much worth the time. Don’t take the shortcut that misses Udine! We ended at The Franz hotel, which has a pool that was very much appreciated after a hot day of biking.
The last ride was to Trieste. We decided to play it safe and do the inland route. It was actually quite beautiful, and we were happy to avoid the stress of cars on the coastal route. Once in Trieste, it was very hard to follow the route and to navigate the city. We loved the city, but just not on bikes. We stayed an extra day in Trieste and really enjoyed it. A beautiful city, that was not nearly as crowded as more well-known tourist spots in Italy.
Overall, the hotels were OK. The first three did not have A/C, and two of those had no elevator. We managed to carry our luggage to the third floor, but we were tired and hot. This is an issue only in the summer months. The heat while biking was not so bad, but some of the hotel rooms were around 80 degrees.
The app worked well for guidance except I had to learn that when it said “In 90 meters…” it really meant about 20 or 30 meters. And it occasionally got left and right backwards (I just followed the map on my phone). Still, it worked well. Do beware that it needs to be running constantly, so burns through power on your cell phone. I learned to be careful to stop it when we took breaks, and we switched to my wife’s phone mid-day. SHOW MORE
My only big annoyance was communication with the staff. There was no one to meet you and show you how to control the ebike when you arrive (there was a video introduction in German). We found our way to the bike shop, but they were clearly unhappy to be dealing with us. We had arranged to rent helmets, but these were not with the bikes, and there was no explanation of what to do. We called the contact number, they told us the bike shop would have them. But the bike shop initially said that they don’t do that (it got cleared up with a call to the office). I had problems with the seat, and the shop said they couldn’t swap seats. Fair enough, but then I had to push them to adjust the seat (slide it back on the rail a bit) to make it better, and they were clearly unhappy doing that simple adjustment. They warned us that we were responsible for the bikes, so I was surprised they only provide one lock for two bikes. The office told us to pick up a second one at the shop, but the shop refused. I found out that at the first hotel, the plugs are spread apart, so you couldn’t plug them in and lock them together. It was not clear if that would be the case at the other hotels, so I asked if we can leave one unlocked in the hotel, if needed. They said it “should” be OK. I was hoping for a clear answer, since they emphasized that we are responsible for the bikes.
Overall, a great trip. We loved the route. The bikes and app worked fine. The hotels were good except for the heat in a few of them. Communication with the company was the main issue. (By the way, the bike shop staff in Trieste were wonderful.)
I’m glad we did the trip. Wish they could have made it easier on the first day.

Very relaxing
Danube Capitals Bike & Boat Tour
This is my first time on a River bike cruise and I loved it!!! The staff on board The Isabella were outstanding , the food was great with lots of variety. Except for the afternoon coffee and cake at 4:00 pm(it’s the same cake everyday) The cruise director however was difficult to work with as I think she’s overworked, bit unorganized and very limited patience. The trip itinerary is fabulous and I’d highly recommend it.

Relaxing way to take in the variety and history along the Danube
Danube Bike Path 7 Nights (Classic)
Good daily distances on an eBike. Allowing time to stop and take in historical sites, cuisine and landscape.
Brand new and well equipped e-bikes. The live navigation map was very good.
