Loire a Velo: Orleans to the Atlantic

The trip was memorable!!! The 4-star hotels were well-located and offered excellent service. The distances covered were appropriate, leaving plenty of free time to enjoy the destination upon arrival. The electric bikes worked perfectly. Kate's attention and advice before and during the trip, as well as that of the local provider, were invaluable. We will definitely book with Biketours again.

    Incredible Experience, highly recommend!

Albarracín to Valencia Along Spain's Longest Greenway

Wonderful experience. Very peaceful ride with very few other cyclists or walkers on the route (April). The support from Sandi and his team was really good, with updates every day that included restaurant recommendations, very helpful. Accommodations and breakfasts were top notch.

The bikes were heavy, about 30 pounds, with larger tyres and lots of gears: both the tyres and gears were much needed at times: a long steady climb on day one and lots of gravel on other days.

The tour ended with two nights in Valencia staying in a busier area: perfect for those looking to explore the city but for those who like the countryside they may wish to tweak the itinerary. We loved all the beautiful scenery, riding through the tunnels, and staying in beautiful and tidy towns. The value for the price was very high, and we are definitely recommending it to friends.

    Beautiful Beaches and Mountains

    Sardinia: A Mine of Memories

The tour was just the right length each day, the terrain was moderately difficult to difficult (I switched from manual bike to e bike after the first day), the GPS guide was easy to follow, and the views were stunning. The food was excellent (especially at the agrotourism farms). The accommodations were very good and all the staff were helpful.

    A great trip.

Along the Rhône River from Geneva to Lyon

The scenery was fantastic. The route was a good balance of relaxing and challenging. The bike was a good quality bike and well maintained. I’m glad we opted for e-bikes. We had no seasoned cyclists in our group, but we coped with hills and terrain quite effectively thanks to the e-bikes.

    Good Value

    Vienna to Budapest 5-nights (Active)

A friend was supposed to join me on this bike tour but she had to bail and I ended up riding Solo which was kind of lonely. That said that route was excellent and pretty easy to follow. The TO's team was very responsive to my questions and concerns and it went a long way in making me confident on my solo ride. My only complaint was the e-bike. It was much heavier than what I'm used to riding which meant I needed to use more assistance. This gave me battery anxiety. The saddle/seat was very rigid and even with padded bike shorts I was very sore at the end of each day. I say this as a long distance endurance cyclist so I am used to being on a saddle for hours and hours. I usually don't get saddle sore. I got sick at the midpoint on the last day and TO help me figure out what to do with the bike and how to get to my final hotel. I appreciate their efforts.

An excellent trip from start to finish

Cycling Vietnam: Saigon to Hoi An

What a fantastic experience. Our guides were so helpful and friendly and thought of everything. From the frequent food and drink stops, to rain jackets when we were unexpectedly caught in a shower to a beer at the end of a tough day of cycling. We couldn't have wished for a better support team! Mr Kim, Mr Khanh, Mr Huy, Mr Lua and Mr Hung were the best! Thanks for a great trip

    Pure magic!

    Danube Family Tour 7 Nights

This was our first bike trip as a family. Our girls were 7 and 8 at the time so it proved slightly challenging for them at moments but mostly just because our days were long. The experience was like magic and we genuinely enjoyed every town we stopped in. We were grateful to find food for our very picky eaters along the way (one of our biggest concerns going into the trip). We enjoyed the trip during apricot season was absolutely incredible. Our kids will never enjoy fresh juices in the way that we did in Austria ever again! We added a couple of extra nights in Vienna which was well worth it. Take the trip!

This trip was a fantastic fit for us

Canal du Midi: Carcassonne to Sete, the South of France and the Sea

This was our first bike tour in France; we will definitely be back for more. In general, the tours and experience were as advertised. Actually, the experience exceeded my expectations. Each of the stops were interesting in their own right, and Carcassonne was a great place to start. We loved the aesthetic of the canals and boats. We saw towns and back country that we never would have seen by car or train. The riding was spectacular. We were very pleased that 95 percent of the riding was on backroads and along the canal trails. We had very good food. I was worried about the one dinner that was included in the tour at an inn in a small village. It ended up being one of our favorite meals.

Hotels were perfectly fine (the trip was two years ago, so I don't recall the details). The bags and portering worked well at each location. The first day reception and bike and map training were also on point. The map app worked great. I was really glad I had ear buds. We really didn't have to reference the maps much along the way because you get verbal prompts from the app when the path changes or veers in another direction.

Yes, there are some climbs, as advertised, through a couple of passes. I was a happy for the exertion, my partner was happy with the e-bike!

About us: We are a couple from the US, fit, 52 and 61 at the time of the trip. We did a self guided tour. One of us was on a regular trail bike, one was on an electric trail bike. We have traveled in France many times.

    Amazing country!

Gravel Biking from Alentejo to the Algarve

The gravel riding was different than anticipated but the support from the local bike tour operator was first class! The hotels we stayed at were 4-5 stars with great food and accommodations. We’d do this trip again! Highly recommend this trip for mountain bikers who want something more relaxed or road cyclists who want more challenge.

    nice views

Albarracín to Valencia Along Spain's Longest Greenway

this trip started in a wonderful small village full of history and great landscapes. getting to the main trial was a rode tour uphill through nice rock formations and trees. The first 2 days are full of hills that have great vistas. Hotels were wonderful and in one case secluded with great food!. The final few days were orange groves and nut trees with mostly downhill decent to the ocean.

    Fantastic experience!

Danube Cycle Path Passau – Budapest

Our self-guided bike tour from Passau to Budapest was fantastic! Bike Tours transported our luggage (LOVED that) and provided excellent ebikes and mostly excellent hotels. The bike paths were mostly easy to follow but even with the Pedalo App and map books provided with the bikes, I would have gotten hopelessly lost if we didn't have internet and maps to use too. Especially after Vienna when some paths got so rough I thought they couldn't possibly be part of the EV6/R1... BUT THEY WERE!!! But, most of the paths were great. I absolutely, thoroughly recommend a Danube bike tour. The best part (and I think this is true to most people judging by how many cyclists and guided bike tours were going on there) was Wachau around Durnstein.
We went in Autumn and I think that was brilliant because it wasn't so busy and watching the trees turn golden as we progressed was a beautiful surprise.
Some cycling days were 60km which I believe was too long because we had no time to explore the towns at the end of the day. We just wanted to use the pool and sauna when available. I was SO glad when the hotel had those facilities. Best thing ever at the end of a long day of riding. Especially when it was wet and cold, which, unfortunately we had for the first few days. I definitely recommend paying extra to get more accommodation with saunas. All the hotel staff were used to cyclists and some had excellent storage. Others, didn't, but the staff were always helpful. Pack as lightly as you can, because even though the luggage is transferred for us, some hotels were walk-ups! Not good. Even worse there was a train journey in a town that only had stairs between platforms! With bikes! Awful. IF you can avoid the train, that's probably best.

    Breathtaking scenery, challenging ride

Aegean Discovery: Cycling through Eastern Crete

Crete is a wonderful island. There is history and ruins, scenery , varied climate from desert to sea, to fertile valleys. The people I met were all wonderful. I did the 14 day option and it was off season. I was the only person .Most of the place closes on October 31. There are 2-3 very challenging climbs on a daily basis. If you are a recreational rider, choose the ebike. On my final day it took me 1.5 hrs to do the first 4.5 km climb. I ride an hour a day and it was challenging, but exhilarating. Weather is wonderful, food is great , accommodations were very well appointed and had fabulous locations. The app has some hiccups, like a peculiar estimate of 1/2 km and a tendency to stop a distance from the hotel. This may have been due to the off season nature and the usual hotels not being used, but it was very disconcerting at the end of a ride to be searching for the hotel. The local travel company was great in helping with difficulties I encountered. Overall though, it was a wonderful combination of exercise and touring and discovering a fabulous place .

    A brilliant tour

    Cycling the West Balkan Triangle

We had a fabulous tour with Alex our tour leader doing a great job as our guide while Gari was a terrific back up driver. Both were extremely helpful and good company. We used electric bikes and are glad we did as there are many steep hill climbs and descents on this tour. The scenery is wonderful and travelling through three countries was a real treat. We arranged a rest day in Kotor which was a wonderful break in a very lovely setting. The scenery along the whole route, perhaps particularly in Montenegro and Croatia, is stunning and the tour took us on many interesting and good roads, and, while there were occasional very busy roads, Alex and Gary managed our passage extremely well. The meals provided, especially the lunches, were terrific and much better than I had anticipated, with different places selected including a winery, olive grove and standout cevapi restaurant in Bosnia.

    A treat for the eyes

Danube Cycle Path Passau – Budapest

I did the last tour of 2025, in October. I went with my sister (we are in our 50s) and my daughter (in her 30s) and we used ebikes. The autumn colours along the way were magnificent. We did get a lot of rain on the first day, and a small amount on the second but otherwise we got lucky with the weather. I wanted to do this type of tour in which you are not riding with other people because I prefer to take my time and not have to worry about holding other people up. There was another group of women we saw sometimes along the way, and got chatting to them sometimes, mostly at breakfast but once along the way. That was nice, and my daughter exchanged socials so she may have made friends.
The path from Passau to Vienna is fantastic, and I reckon I could do that again, maybe on my own and maybe even on a regular bike. After Vienna it's a bit rougher, particularly in Slovakia. We were worried about the bikes over one particularly bumpy patch, but we figured they wouldn't be sending the bikes there if they didn't think they were up to the task. And they were, so all was well.
The hotels we stayed at were very good, for the most part. We chose category A due to the higher number of spa hotels. They didn't all have a spa, and they didn't all have lifts either, so bear that in mind when packing. Yes, they transport your bags (chef's kiss on that) but you have to get them to your room. Some of the rooms in Austria were more suited to couples than to mother and daughter due to having bathrooms with glass doors, but we just had to make sure we were in a spot out of eyeline when the other was using the facilities.
I absolutely loved this trip and sometimes get a bit sad that it's over.
