Perfect way to experience Germany
Munich & the Bavarian Lakes
We had a blast on this trip — loved getting to see a bunch of small towns that we otherwise would never have visited. The biking was amazing (very very glad we sprung for e-bikes though!) and it was so great to arrive to our destination each day and have all our luggage already waiting for us! Would absolutely book another trip.

Great first-time bike tour
Cycling the Altmühl Valley - Round trip from Regensburg
We went on this tour with our 9- and 12-year-old boys. It was an adventure at times, but everyone loved it.
We averaged about 36 miles per day, with the longest ride 43 miles. With a couple exceptions (detour on second day; climb to scenic vista on beginning of third day), the route was generally flat and easy to ride. Outside of towns, the route follows dedicated bike paths and quiet roads. There were a couple spots, both at Danube river crossings that we found a bit intimidating with the kids, but they were ultimately no problem. With our stops and side trips, we typically had long days (arriving at hotel between 4:30 and 6 or 7), but the rides were not overly taxing physically.
The scenery was interesting and the towns were charming. Not too many other tourists on the route or in the towns during the week, but on Friday and Saturday there more tourists, mainly Germans cyclists, kayakers, hikers. A couple of the hotels were outstanding, a couple others were merely acceptable. We had quad rooms everywhere, except one hotel provided adjoining double. Included continental breakfasts were good, more or less as expected. Luggage was picked up from and delivered to the next hotel each day without problem.
Bikes were about as expected, but could have been better. A bit heavy, and could have used tune ups. We did have a flat tire, and the included tools were sufficient to get the tire changed (which we had never done before).
Signs were typically excellent, but there were a couple missing signs. It is helpful to know when you are following a long-distance or primary bike route (shown on area maps provided) because there's additional signs. For the most part, following bike route signs to the next town was sufficient. We missed turns a few times, but we got better at reading the maps and following the routes after the first day or so.

Fantastic!
Cycling the Altmühl Valley - Round trip from Regensburg
My 10 year old nephew and I had a wonderful ride through the Altmuehl Valley. The riding was safe (almost entirely on bike paths) and very doable for a 10 year old. Beautiful scenery every day and plenty of fun things to explore along the way. The hotels were quaint and lovely - all offered great breakfasts to get us started each day. The bikes were nice and maps generally very helpful. I would definitely book another trip.

Wonderful crew and guide
Northern Bavaria: Bike and Boat the Main River
The guided rides along the Main River kept my interest as we passed through the small villages between Nuremberg and Wurzburg. There was even an Old Town Beer Festival and parade in Nuremberg at the start of the tour. Staying on board the Merlijn made the trip so easy--the captain and crew kept everyone happy. And Tomas, our guide knew the best bakeries to stop at for morning snacks each day. The route was mostly on protected cycle paths along the river. And the weather was breezy and sunny all week. A perfect biking week.

Cycling at Its Best!
Romantic Road from Würzburg to Donauwörth
We thoroughly enjoyed the cycling between Würzburg and Donauwörth. Germany has such great cycling infrastructure. The roads we travelled were mostly car-free. Often we cycled through agricultural land with good pavement, brick, or crushed stone. Each day brought us to a new medieval town to explore. The accommodations were nice and convenient to town centers making it easy to drop off the bikes at the hotels and tour the towns on foot. All hotels were bike friendly and had places to store the bikes when we were not using them. The scenery was lovely. We highly recommend this trip!
For first-time users, the Komoot App was challenging to use. It is not personalized and the routes do not take you to your hotel each day. You have to navigate from the general route map to your hotel yourself, which can be challenging.

Great way to see an iconic route
Romantic Road from Würzburg to Donauwörth
Best way to explore Germany. The ease of having the rooms booked, bikes ready to go and the route with additional things to see made this the best way to see Romantic Road. After biking the 20-30 miles to each destination it was wonderful to have our bags waiting for us at the hotel. This made the trip so much more enjoyable. The fact that breakfast was included made it a wonderful way to start the day. We were duped for our rides and never needed to stop for food. Great company and wonderful service. The only thing I would suggest would be the option to pre purchase a helmet and a poncho. Not an issue the bike shop at the first stop did the trick. We traveled from the states and didn’t have room for the helmet. So we bought and left it in Germany.

Long awaited bike trip
Between Frankfurt and Bamberg on the Main River
Guide and crew aboard the Merlin was fantastic. They were courteous, knowledgeable, hard working and accommodating. Weather not the best but it didn't dampen spirits! Really enjoyed the unique experience of a boat/ bike trip to see Germany. Would definitely consider doing it again !

Munich & the Bavarian Lakes
Bavaria is a very scenic area and riding through it on a bike was a sure way to appreciate its' beauty. Most of the ride was on bike paths/trails or country roads. The towns we stayed in were very quaint and interesting. I would definitely consider doing another ride like this.

Each view better than the previous
Munich & the Bavarian Lakes
I toured solo but with the provided itinerary. It was such a comfort knowing my fresh clothes and a soft bed were awaiting my arrival at each stop. Every town was wonderful. I spent a bit longer in Garmisch, just because I loved it so. I’m a 58 year old healthy guy, but didn’t train at all for this trip. Next time, I would opt for an eBike. Extra cost but I think I could have had more energy and time to explore more.

Magical Medieval Villages of Bavaria
Romantic Road from Würzburg to Donauwörth
We loved our biking in Bavaria, even though it was during an extreme heat wave. We left early and took beer and water breaks in cute villages along the way. Then we showered and napped in our charming accommodations, before enjoying a stroll and dinner in the cooler evening. This was a great way to visit the romantic medieval towns in Bavaria. Rottenburg was such a treat with the Nightwatchman tour and the world famous Christmas shop.

Excellent trip
Munich & the Bavarian Lakes
It was a wonderful trip and a great way to experience the region. The trails were beautiful and the accommodations were quite charming. On a couple of occasions, the maps didn’t correspond exactly to the locations and in need of updating - meaning, the trail began or ended not exactly at the hotel. But overall, we had a wonderful experience and highly recommend this.

delightful part of Germany to explore
Munich & the Bavarian Lakes
We did a self-guided tour of Munich and the Bavarian Lakes in late August 2025. The trip was well-organized with on-point cue sheets and GPS and map for directions. The hotels were fantastic--large rooms, good breakfasts and great staff. The scenery was beautiful and the towns we stayed in had tons of Bavarian charm. Baggage delivery was well-managed and always arrived before the stated time.
Downsides were poor guidance at our introductory appointment. The coordinator--Jose-- miscommunicated the time of our intro and when we did work out a time to meet he was not very helpful. He didn't go over the routes and didn't help us with the bikes except when we insisted. We wanted to change out our pedals and he resisted helping us. He finally gave us a tool to help. My bike was too large for me even though I had given my height when I reserved. He didn't want to replace it with a bike that fit me and told me it might cost more to get a bit to fit me! I told him it was unacceptable to ride a bike that was too big for me as I could injure myself if I had to jump off. He finally agreed to get me a bike that fit. He gave us a pump that was broken and then didn't explain that the valves on the tires are set up to allow pumping at gas stations. Fortunately, at our first night's stop there was a Eurobike office next door to the hotel and we talked to Thomas-- managing that office. He was fantastic. Spent an hour with us explaining the bikes and giving us tips about the rest of the route and what to see and do.
The other downside which isn't a fault of the tour operator, but should be explained to Americans--is that about 1/3 of the regional cycle trails are gravel. Some are not well-maintained. Most of the rode biking in the US is done on paved roads so we were unprepared for so much gravel and I felt nervous going up and down the hills when it was hard to control the bike.

Beautiful Bavarian countryside
Cycling the Altmühl Valley - Round trip from Regensburg
Each day was a unique experience. Starting with the Danube path, then the lush fields and rocky backdrop of the Altmuhl valley, and the ferry rides along the Danube gorge and the canal. The villages along the way were so picturesque.
The maps and descriptions provided us with a wonderful guide to the sights along the way. The hotels were comfortable, centrally located, and very helpful about what to see and good restaurants for dinner. Our overnights were in towns with rich history and traditions, and there were always interesting spots to stop along the way.

Fabulous tour of Southern Germany
Romantic Road and Bavarian Lakes
Delightful tour of the rural countryside outside of Munich. Roads were calm with little traffic and the bike paths were well marked. The written turn-by-turn directions were supplemented by a digital routing app, which greatly helped with navigation during the tour. The hotels were charming with friendly staff and breakfast never disappointed before heading out for our daily ride.

Just stunning scenery and a great bike adventure
Romantic Road and Bavarian Lakes
Just loved cycling the romantic road. Acconodation were good, the scenery was spectacular. There was only one place are stayed with air conditioning. It was very hot at night so had trouble sleeping. Ask the breakfasts were great. The APP was amazing, made it very easy to find your way. So much to see and do just a brilliant time had but us. Bikes were comfortable and the panniers were fabulous for sorting extra gear. Briefing was good, however my bike didn't have some issues even before we started and Thomas had no tool kit with him and couldn't adjust our bikes. Bags picked to and delivered waiting for when we arrived.

Great family bike tour
Romantic Road from Würzburg to Donauwörth
This tour was perfect for myself, husband, and 15 year old son. It was a perfect mix of scenery, history, and nature. We really enjoyed exploring each town and all the stops in between. All the hotels and breakfast each morning were great (we took the upgrade). Finally, skipping the dinner plan was a good idea because it let us explore many more options each night.
